This is a relaxed one-hour horseback ride run by Saddle Stories, setting off in the late afternoon so you are in the saddle as the golden-hour light softens over Malta's countryside. You meet your horse and guide, then follow gentle rural trails between open fields, traditional dry-stone walls and Mediterranean plants, well away from the busier tourist spots. It is kept small, limited to five riders, and the pace is easy and unhurried rather than anything fast or technical.
It suits couples and anyone who fancies a peaceful outdoor experience and a different view of the island from the back of a horse. A few practical things worth knowing before you book: there is a maximum rider weight of 90kg, you are asked to wear long trousers and closed-toe shoes, and it is not suitable for pregnant women. Gratuities are included and cancellation is free up to 24 hours ahead.
The meeting point is out in Malta's rural northwest, roughly in the Mġarr and Rabat direction, so you will likely want a car or a taxi to reach it. As it is a small-group ride with set start times, book ahead to secure your spot and to confirm the exact meeting location and sunset timing on the day.
