Cala Lido at Malta Marriott

We went along to a Maltese Night at Cala Lido, the poolside restaurant at the Malta Marriott down in Balluta Bay, St Julian's, and it turned out to be about so much more than just the dinner. Authentic local dishes, live entertainment and a lovely poolside setting came together for a really memorable family evening, and the staff were genuinely lovely with us.

The themed nights run throughout the season and there's something to suit every taste, from Maltese Night to Sushi and Jazz, Pork and Beer, BBQ Night and plenty more. Each evening has its own menu and entertainment, so it's the kind of place you could go back to more than once and get a different experience every time.

At the time we visited it was €45 per adult, which included the themed buffet, free-flowing soft drinks and complimentary parking. Children aged 6 to 11 dine for half price and under 6s eat free, so it works well for families. Whether you're celebrating something, want a fun family meal or just fancy trying something different, we think Cala's themed nights are well worth adding to your list.
