The Fat Rabbit
We've been. Visited June 2026.
A much loved Nadur restaurant for proper traditional Maltese and Gozitan cooking that locals kept telling us to try.

Since moving to Gozo, this is one restaurant that has been recommended to us more than almost any other, so we finally went to see what the fuss was about. It's known for traditional Maltese and Gozitan dishes, and it felt like the perfect place to bring the kids for some genuinely authentic local food.
From the moment we arrived it was easy to see why people love it. Great atmosphere, generous portions and proper traditional food. One of our favourite parts of living here has been discovering the local culture through food, and this was definitely one of those experiences.
If you're visiting Gozo and want something truly local, this one deserves a spot on your list. Just book in advance, because it gets very busy.
