We visited The Boat House one evening in Xlendi, and we finally understood why it turns up on so many must-visit lists. It sits right on the waterfront, so you get the freshest seafood and Mediterranean flavours alongside a view over Xlendi Bay that is hard to beat.
The whole experience felt special to us, from the daily fresh ingredients and local seafood to the relaxed atmosphere by the water. It is the kind of place we would happily return to, whether for a romantic date night, a celebration or simply a memorable meal.
It is run by a local family, and the setting really comes into its own around sunset. We would book ahead, especially in the busier months, to make sure of a table with the best view.
