This is a one hour visit to Razzett Alpaca, a small family run petting farm in Xewkija run by Gozo Alpaca Walks. After a short briefing you are each paired with a calm, tame alpaca and take it for a slow walk through the surrounding countryside, usually around 30 to 45 minutes, before heading back to feed them. The route does cross a road, so keep little ones close at that point.
Back at the farm there are plenty of other animals to meet and photograph, including goats and baby goats, chickens and chicks, rabbits, peacocks, turkeys, pheasants and a couple of resident cats. The guides run it in English and Maltese, and reviewers consistently mention how well the animals are cared for and how patient the hosts are with children.
It suits families and animal lovers of most ages, and works just as well for couples wanting something calm and different. It is a paid booking on GetYourGuide, roughly 68 US dollars per person for the hour, with pickup and drop off arranged on request. Booking ahead makes sense as the sessions are small, and note it can be cancelled in bad weather since most of it is outdoors.
